About this work
At the centre of a topsy-turvy tea table, a burlesque Alice multiplies into a cast of impossible selves — performer, enchantress, mischief-maker and muse. Through the magnifying glass, the familiar world of Alice in Wonderland is transformed into theatre: playful, seductive and delightfully unstable.
Clock, teacups, birdcage and scattered sweets summon the language of Wonderland, yet this is no innocent nursery tale. Here, Alice steps into the role of ringmaster of her own fantasy, turning curiosity into performance and scale into illusion. The magnifying glass becomes both prop and portal, enlarging not only what is seen, but the dreamlike spectacle itself.
Alice Through the Magnifying Glass celebrates transformation, theatricality and the power of reinvention — a world where wonder is staged, identity is fluid, and every surface invites us to look closer.
How it is made, and what you receive
- Built, not captured
- Every element is photographed separately, then layered and worked in Photoshop until the scene holds together as one image.
- No AI, no stock images
- Every photograph in every composite was taken by me. Nothing here is generated, and nothing is bought in from a library.
- Printed on metal
- The image is infused into a ChromaLuxe aluminium panel rather than laid on top of it, which is what gives these prints their depth and luminosity. Paper cannot do it.
- Signed and numbered
- Each print is signed, numbered within its edition, and sent with a certificate of authenticity.
